GHOSTS

Well, the beginning of it, anyway.

I'm a little under the weather tonight, so I will get much more elaborate soon, but here are two links to get things started:

I chose the above because the ghost hunting team employs scrying.

  1. I do believe in ghosts, but I am always skeptical when it comes to shows like these. I believe that some of the phenomena they are talking about could be real, in fact I have experienced some similar things myself. However, I think it is more believable if the experience occurs without anyone thinking about it. For instance, if someone is minding their own business in their house and something unexplainable happens, it seems much more likely to be a spirit looking for attention then a group of random people going to a haunted area and seeking the spirit out. I do not see what reason a spirit would have to acknowledge those people when they bare no meaning. In my mind, spirits chose who they should present themselves to. I like that they have Caiaran on the show to offer an explanation for some of the things that happened. I do believe that the human mind is an extremely powerful place and that sometimes we create in our heads the things we would like to believe and swear for it to be true. I think these peoples minds play tricks on them sometimes. I was interested to learn what scrying was. I have done it before without knowing it was a way to attract spirits or even knowing it had a name. When I have done it, it was always by accident when I would catch myself in a mirror when a candle was lit and almost getting lost in my own image and it was honestly a very creepy feeling. However, I had to wonder if those people's imaginations were running wild. After watching these episodes I remain how I have always been, very open and yet skeptical.
